  10. Yellow-bellied x Red-naped Sapsucker (hybrid)

    Number observed: 1

    Comments: Multiple observers and I saw and photographed two male sapsuckers today. There was one which we first found and followed closely for quite long. It was presumably a male Red-naped x Yellow-bellied with clear red nape, messier back and intermediate black border around red throat. Another male sapsucker later joined and mixed in, which should be the pure Red-naped.
    I thought I had pictures of both but all the photos in my camera turned out to be all pure male Red-naped, weird... now I cannot tell which bird I saw was which... but yeah, there were definitely two;
    Also a female Red-naped was witnessed and photographed by Bridget (https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S55149631), what a day of sapsuckers!
