Comments: Bulkier body than Great Blue Heron, showing rufous and gray overall coloration; red cap to head distinctive. Individual found roughly a half hour earlier by Karen & Tom Beatty. Foraging in field south of Shipps Cabin Road, east of Muddy Creek Road against first vegetation line. We viewed in the rain with Karen and Tom briefly and headed out as the Maloney crew arrived.
