    Comments: Smaller Buteo, white underside, body, undertail coverts, throat, and wing linings; primaries and secondaries were darker, with black primary tips. The tail appeared light with a dark terminal band, the bird had pointed wings, and dark sides of the face. [RB notes]

    Comments: Good views of foraging singles, widely spaced along trail; all giving calls.

    Comments: All single males, located by hearing singing birds. Spread all along trail from just above first stream crossing to just above second stream crossing. Close views as they foraged in maples, conifers, and shrubs along stream. Red faces with black caps extending down cheeks; gray back and white bellies.
