Paul McKenzie and I birded along the central road to the end of the Pool 14, then returned to Pool 10 and walked over much of the area in the SE corner that surrounds the open pool and cattails. Paul went one way and I went another. Paul was able to photograph a Nelson's Sparrow in the Pool, I will go back and try for it again soon. overcast with south wind.

Details: Paul located and photographed this Nelson's Sparrow in Pool 10 in the SE corner across the ditch just before the cattails and open pools. There is a 100 ft mowed edge to the ditch that parallels the first side of the second one-way loop. The bird was flushed into the dry cattails about 200 feet from the one-way loop across the ditch before the cattails next to the open pools in the SE corner. All Nelson's Sparrow photos were taken by Paul McKenzie.
