Comments: Size of a large sparrow. Light-colored throat above black upper breast patch above yellow lower breast above grayish belly, making it an adult male. Facing me so upperparts not seen during the 20 seconds I saw the bird before it flew off. I was focused on the breast during that brief time period so I only got an impression of the striped black, white, and yellow head pattern. Likely a migrant since the wetlands were bordered by woods, though there was a weedy field 0.25 mile away along Mud Lane and Route 7. I have seen several Dickcissels in my life, the most recent in 2017 about 40 miles south near Belleville, WV, which is also in the Ohio River Valley.

Breeding Code: H In Appropriate Habitat (Possible)
