Comments: *uncommon and likely especially so along the north shore, where sightings seem to be far less frequent than the illustrious south shore. Very exciting patch-first for me after many attempts for this species. Seen hunting (very unsuccessfully) over the marsh as the sun was setting. Typical Asio shape with "moth-like" flight, where the body seems to move in a perfectly straight trajectory regardless of the wing-flapping. The upperwing also showed a large buffy colored panel between the dark tip of the wings and the wrist, contra LEOW. Again, very exciting.
