Birded especially for continuing Pacific Golden-Plover and Black Scoters, which we found. Concentrated on area near Snowy Plover encloser and smaller concrete jetty west of the Beaches and Harbors building. Sunny, mild.

    Details: Estimate of one large flock stretching out on both sides of concrete jetty/pier.

    Details: Located, with scanning effort, two of the reported three mixed in with large Surf Scoter flock. Female type smaller, grayish scoters with solid whitish cheek patch, thinner bill.

    Details: Found just after we followed the Pacific Golden-Plover southward where the two joined up briefly for easy comparisons.

    Details: Continuing bird well-described by others. Near the SW corner of plover enclosure and base of concrete jetty. Photos and later comparison side-by-side with Black-bellied Plover.
