This property is not publicly accessible. It's a US Marine Corps facility. Chilly in the morning with stiff breezes, leading to clear skies and full sun. Less chilly by the time we were complete. Make sure to watch the video under the Long-billed Dowitcher entry.

    Details: *flagged as rare. Filter really set to rare due to their lack of habitat around here. They are annual in small numbers here in migration, most often seen at Spoonbill Pond (rarely to never at Huguenot etc.). Precise count of these birds in the south eastern end of basin. Photos.

    Details: Watched one try to fight off the eagle as the eagle tried to steal fish from its mate near the nest. Aerial battle!

    Details: Accurate count. One third year, 2 adults, 3 imm. Watched 4 at one time doing aerial maneuvers. Later watched an adult in the parking lot trying to take the Osprey's prey when the other Osprey swooped down to help defend it. Awesome!
