40 degrees. Mostly cloudy. Winds from the wnw @10-20 mph. First day of trout fishing which ruined duck numbers. Way too many boats on the lake. Ran into Dennis Glew and Kevin Dougherty briefly. Water open and no snow cover.

  7. grebe sp.

    Number observed: 2

Details: Likely Horned Grebes based on size, but lighting was poor and could only see silhouette as they flew off in the distance.

  8. Number observed: 1
  9. Number observed: 1

Details: This is my first Lehigh County record for this bird. Had it not flown up I would have never known it was there. I found it on the "island" that juts into the lake across from the main parking lot. FOY!

  21. Number observed: 23

Details: I don't find this number to be unusual given the amount of time and area covered. They are seen all over Leaser Lake and this is probably a somewhat conservative #.

  41. Number observed: 1

Details: Finely streaked breast and buffy wash on breast. At one point I had this bird and a Fox Sparrow in my binoculars at the same time. Not too shabby. I think this is my first Lehigh Co. record for this bird as well. FOY.
