Clear. Sunny at first. Strong breeze (although it hadn't occurred to me, this was ideal for raptors). Walked from home to Bhargava's fields, via Cave Rock hill, Sunrise Point by the regular tractor path, and back. At Sunrise point, I saw a goatherd boy carrying a pistol or homemade gun and was trying to hide it (not very actively because I could make out what it was).

  13. Number observed: 1

Details: Large eagle, possibly juvenile by light rufous coloured underwing coverts, long primaries, black tipped, light barred secondaries and primaries (underwing).

For the following reasons I though it could be an Oriental Honey-buzzard: Possibly intermediate or "regular" juvenile female based on: black banded flight feathers, rufous underwing coverts without dark carpal patch. Primaries black tipped, bulge in secondaries. Head small with narrow neck, rufous colour. Wings held straight unlike both Common and Long-legged, also less pointed and square ended. Tail long and rounded tips, terminal tail band absent (light subterminal and 2-3 more bands seen).

Additionally, seen in aerial combat with comparatively larger Tawny Eagle (see that species for details). Headed south.
