Anser sp.Number observed: 2
Details: Two medium-sized geese closely resembling so-called "domestic" geese. White at the base of the orangish bill and forehead was the most distinctive markings on an otherwise drab body. These birds were swimming in Hamilton Pond. After a long period watching them, one flared up, flapping its wings, and revealed black mottling on the belly. This is an historic record from my notebooks; the preceding is all the information I have. That said, at the time, I was confident they were Greater White-fronted Geese. Alas, I have no other information to further verify that report.
