63F at begin, 84F at end. Winds light and actually diminish during the day. Started at Tubac Bridge and moved south to near the powerline cut across the riparian.

    Details: Heard only, but only from 15 m or so. Rapid rubbery babble call in leafy forbs within 5 m of Santa Cruz itself. I waited 15 minutes but it would not emerge, and I had to get going. Separated from House and Bewicks's by rapidity of chatter and squeakiness and rubberiness of call. From Pacific by more liquid sqeakiness to call, Pacific sounds drier to my ear.

    Details: Immediately separated from nearby Orange-crowned Warblers by greenish hue, smaller size, and combo of dark eyeline/pale supercilium. White undertail coverts. Could not get photograph.
