per journal notes; 0600-1300 at the 120 ft Tower plus did a circuit hike before lunch/1400-1500 I sat on pier and birded around lodge/1500-1900 Garzacoche again ,our Indian guide Jose that spoke little English but was the best communicator to where the bird was hidden in the foliage plus had a zillion cassettes and could change them in rapid fire succession; Trip to ECUADOR (March 1-13, 1995)organized and led by Bob Ake; mainly concentrating on the Amazon Basin (Napo River to La Selva Lodge) but a bit of high Andes ( Papallacta Pass east of Quito)and the Pacific slope (Nono-Mindo Rd/Mindo area); 10 of us including Bob Ake, leader, Bruce & Pring Davenport, Murray Honick and wife Renee Lamm, Mary Ann Madison, Anne Rollo, Peggy Rommel (my roomie), Lew Wilkinson and me plus our guide Juan Carlo M??? and our driver Manuel; my 1st soul birding trip out of the country
