    Details: Large buteo, all dark except for white patch at the base of the tail feathers. Very large bill. No white patches in the wings. Sighting corroborated by three other members of the party.

    Number observed: 1

    Details: Adult female, seen, studied well and photographed. A well-advertised bird, present at this location for about a week. Preferred to perch in open areas. Remained stationary for up to ten minutes. Relatively unconcerned by all the attention it was getting. Distinctive white tail patch seen clearly several times.
