Number observed: 1
Details: This bird was seen briefly during morning birding; it was identified initially on the basis of its was foraging near the ground, with brownish-olive back, large bill, bold supercilium, and unmarked underparts. Later in the day, three observers returned to the spot, crouched in a clearing, and played Swainson's Warbler song from a cd. The Swainson's Warbler responded quickly and approached very closely, gave a call note several times, and afforded all observers excellent views. The sighting was documented with notes that were published in Maine Bird Notes. The observers were Matthew F. Sharp, Christopher C. Witt, and Jon Brink.
