    Details: apparent adult almost fully molted into basic plumage. large godwit with relatively long bill (longer than nearby Greater Yellowlegs) noticeably upturned with pale base of lower mandible, bold whitish supercilium especially in front of eye, buff nape and throat, dark brown breast with fairly clear demarcation between it and whitish belly, undertail and flanks whitish with some apparent black marks on undertail coverts likely remaining from alternate plumage, scapulars fresh gray. In flight showed black wing linings below, black coverts above with narrow white wing bars at base of inner primaries and secondaries. photos:

    Details: 2 in 1st winter or adult basic plumage (birds A and B), 1 adult in alternate plumage (bird C). basic plumage birds with partial black cap wrapping around back of head, white forehead, obvious carpal bars. photo below pictures one of the two basic plumaged individuals (with a Forster's Tern). adult alt-plumaged bird with complete black cap, blood red bill, gray upperparts, short tail relative to wings when perched, very dark primaries while perched. bird A: bird B: birds A and C:
