   Details: Saw three individuals staying pretty close together, a male, a female and a juvenile male

4. Iceland Gull (Thayer's)

5. Iceland Gull (glaucoides/kumlieni)

   Number observed: 1

   Details: I was actually taking photos of the Harlequin, when the gull just dropped into the frame. It looked unusual, with a small, stubby bill and pale coloring. It took me a while to identify the species as a Kumlien Iceland Gull. I've had this ID confirmed by Nathan Hentze on the B.C. Ornithology website.
