May eBirder of the Month Challenge
This month’s eBirder of the Month challenge, sponsored by Carl Zeiss Sports Optics, is all about birding on Global Big Day! Last year, more than 50,000 eBirders from 175 countries collected an astounding 120,000 checklists in a single day. What can we achieve together this year? The eBirder of the month will be drawn from eBirders who submit five (5) or more eligible checklists on 8 May.
On 8 May, be a part of the world’s biggest day of birding and help celebrate World Migratory Bird Day simply by submitting eBird checklists. It doesn’t matter where you are or how many species you see—you can enjoy birds from home and still be part of Global Big Day. Whether you only have 5-10 minutes to spare, or submit lists throughout the day, every eBird checklist submitted on May 8 counts towards the Global Big Day results. Of course, if you want a chance at free binoculars, submit at least five eligible checklists!
The winner will receive a new ZEISS Conquest HD 8×42 binocular and will be notified by the 10th of the following month. Each month we will feature a new eBird challenge and set of selection criteria. And don’t forget about the 2021 Checklist-a-day Challenge!
