When we first arrived, just after 6am, there were Shelducks everywhere, extremely numerous, possibly as many as 10,000 (not counted, only very rough estimate in hindsight). Thinned out rapidly during time we were present, most rising and flying W, some not very far, to fed on stubble paddocks.
