A great local record. Heard loud advertising 'Kek-Kek-Kek' call coming from a marshy drainage line (Deadman Creek) - approx 500m East of the Diffey Road underpass along the Rail Trail. Waited to hear call repeated again to confirm it was not a frog. There are a couple of heavily vegetated dams along this section of the creek as well as copious weedy grasses. The local area also received 200mm of rain two days ago and the landscape is currently saturated. It may be that the hydrological flux in the landscape has caused some displacement\movement of species to slightly higher elevations - but this is just a guess.

HC -an interesting record at this elevation - calling from paddocks about 5km south of Beechworth near Diffey Road crossing.
