Comparison with Hudsonian Godwit!

1

The best loved Hudsonian Godwit in Tasmania is back! I noticed an increase in Godwit numbers and did a scan to see if anything more interesting was present... seeing a small, uniformly coloured and gracefully built bird, I thought I had the Blackwit... and then it raised its head from feeding. Like a kick to the gut, the realisation dawned that the bill was upturned! I cannot overstate my joy at this rediscovery, for the Hudsonian Godwit is one of my absolute favourite birds. I even got some flight shots to put the ID beyond doubt. Welcome back old friend c: !
