A truly stunning day at Orielton Lagoon... aside from the obvious birds, a strange highlight was the appearance of a large Hare among the Gull colony.

Was looking at the Golden Plovers, seeing if any were coming into breeding plumage yet, and instantly noticed this one among them, to my astonishment. Clear white belly with sharp cutoff from chest markings, orange base to bill and bright yellow legs all noted. Interestingly, it was much happier with the plovers than its three close relatives, the Sharpies. Like I said, I was stunned to notice this beautiful bird!
