The period will start off with northerly flow across the northeast and Great lakes regions with a sharp front extending from the central Plains to the Carolinas. South of this front there will be southerly winds across the Gulf into the south. By the middle of the forecast period, a large high pressure system will set up off the east coast with pronounced southerly winds across the eastern half of the U.S. The Pacific northwest will continue to be visited by one low pressure after another with unsettled weather conditions. The southwest should remain fairly dry and warm through the period.
