Pennsylvania Society for Ornithology
Pennsylvania Society for Ornithology (started 1990) fosters the study and appreciation of the birds of the state and promotes the conservation of birds and their habitat. At annual meetings, birders of all skill levels and professionals enjoy and learn from field trips, scientific presentations, and each other. PSO publishes PSO Pileated (newsletter), Pennsylvania Birds (quarterly journal), and website (www.pabirds.org). Journal provides feature articles, seasonal county records, rarity reports, photos, and summaries of Christmas counts, hawk watches, and spring migration counts. Members participate in Winter Raptor Surveys and Special Areas Project.
