Welcome to eBird India

We are delighted to bring you the all-new portal for eBird India on this Independence Day, 2015! This portal is designed to be the landing site for eBirders from India. The home page (ebird.org/india) will carry news and features written for an Indian audience, plus the occasional post from the global eBird site. A variety of other customizations are scattered through the India portal, including in the Explore Data and My eBird sections.

The eBird India portal is brought to you by the Bird Count India partnership; you can read more about the effort behind this in the About page and on the Bird Count India website.

Our endeavour is to involve birders — both individuals and groups — from across the country in better documenting our amazing avian heritage and tracking changes in their distribution and populations. With your help and participation, eBird in India has been growing steadily and now holds over 1.5 million observations of birds, making it the largest database on the occurrence and distribution of Indian birds.

Please join us and thousands of other birders across the country in continuing to grow this public repository of information on the birds that we watch and love!
