As a member of eBird, you have already directly contribute to the conservation goals of this project by submitting your bird observations everyday. In its simplest form eBird is a tool for birders, but at its highest level, eBird functions as a sophisticated tool for furthering science and conservation goals worldwide. eBird is being used to monitor birds by providing data on bird distribution, seasonal occurrence, and relative abundance. Your hard work in the field is being combined with rigorous scientific data to provide a better large-scale picture of the lives of birds and the habitats they occupy.
Help eBird's conservation goals. Earn a chance to win an iPod loaded with bird songs!
We’re asking for your help now to further eBird’s conservation goals by sponsoring the Sapsuckers in this year’s World Series of Birding. The money you raise will directly support the development of eBird. Please consider creating your own Big Day 2009 Fundraising Page. In a few simple steps, you will be able to create your webpage, personalize your homepage with your message, and then create a personal email to send to friends and family to invite them to support eBird through Big Day. It’s a fun and easy way to reach out to others about eBird and the work of the Lab.
As an added incentive, we have two iPods loaded with the complete songs of the birds of North America courtesy of the Macaulay Library of Natural Sounds. These will be awarded to the two individuals who: 1. Raise the most funds through their personal fundraising page, and 2. Have the greatest number of people who give contributions through their page.
We hope that you’ll help us in raising funds for conservation this year by supporting eBird and the Sapsuckers in the World Series of Birding. We’re looking forward to the win!
