The Department of Defense eBird site has two mechanisms to collect data. First, is to use the Submit Data tab. This works well for observations made outside of any specific monitoring protocol and for new projects that do not record distance or break down time intervals. Exiting data should brought in using the Avian Knowledge by using the
Dataset Archive Upload. Your project's dataset will be archived in its original
Access/Excel/CSV or other file format. Your data will be stored in the
AKN with the associated metadata describing your project. Your
data will also be placed in a queue for federation into the Bird
Monitoring Data Exchange schema.
