The ROC is born!

Birds and wildlife watchers network of Chile or simply ROC, is a new natural history study and conservation organization in Chile. The ROC promotes the collection of field data, such as census techniques, to help define the most important areas for bird conservation in Chile. In this sense, the ROC is a perfect complement to eBird Chile, which it will now manage. With eBird Chile, plus the water birds census, species-specific projects (e.g., ringing and national census of White-backed stilt and American oystercatcher), and the development of a field watchers network, we hope to create an excellent tool for the conservation of natural environments. All ROC data will be included in eBird Chile, and it will be the official tool for studies and analysis at the ROC. We are very proud to introduce these complementary forces: eBird Chile and ROC.

With these new tools we now have the necessary elements to develop and work for the future.

No more excuses! Whoever wants to collaborate and participate can do so. All the necessary tools are here.

Well, with the exception of binoculars and a field notebook.

Once again Welcome to eBird Chile and Viva la ROC!!
