Localidades personales y "Hotspots".

The ROC is born!

The ROC is born!

Birds and wildlife watchers network of Chile or simply ROC, is a new natural history study and conservation organization in Chile. The ROC promotes the collection of field data, such as census techniques, to help define the most important areas for bird conservation in Chile. In this sense, the ROC is a perfect complement to eBird Chile, which it will now manage. With eBird Chile, plus the water birds census, species-specific projects (e.g., ringing and national census of White-backed stilt and American oystercatcher), and the development of a field watchers network, we hope to create an excellent tool for the conservation of natural environments. All ROC data will be included in eBird Chile, and it will be the official tool for studies and analysis at the ROC. We are very proud to introduce these complementary forces: eBird Chile and ROC.

eBird Chile is a reality!

eBird Chile is a reality!

We already have an eBird portal dedicated exclusively to Chilean birds. eBird now is the best tool for gathering knowledge about the birds of Chile. eBird is a real-time, online checklist program. Launched in 2002 by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and National Audubon Society, eBird provides rich data sources for basic information on bird abundance and distribution at a variety of spatial and temporal scales. Join us in this new challenge that will allow us to know better our birds.
